REGIONET ACTIVE partnership for the regional economy

The aim of the Regionet project is to boost the dynamics of economy between Austria and Hungary and to foster a sustainable system of partnership in project-related areas. This general objective can come true by the implementation of sub-goals.

Furtherance of the development of the SME sector is one of these sub-goals. Because of their size, the SMEs are more reluctant to cooperation. In this project, the assistance of the SMEs comes true by actively facilitating cooperation.

Strengthening of micro-regions in the border area is another intend of the project. The development of the border area can be found in the microregions. Regionet is to enliven their economic life and to strengthen common methods. Its central elements are the establishment and development of micro-regional economic networks, which concentrate on cooperation, competency development, innovation and cross-company marketing.

Shaping of a cross-border economic area is a key element and this can be defined by the number and intensity of business partnerships amongst companies within the territory. The project wishes to enhance these aimed and sustainable partnerships with the help of micro-regional economic networks. The cooperation among institutions implemented within Regionet Active will create a common knowledge base in the border area that will provide successful tools and methods for economic development. Emphasized goal of Regionet is to develop best practices and to become a model region in Europe.
