The EU-funded project EDUCORB is aiming at the establishment of sustainable development amongst institutions residing in the border area of Hungarian West-Pannonia (Győr –Moson-Sopron, Vas and Zala counties) and the Austrian Industrieviertel (Niederösterreich region) focused on the expansion of language education, cultural and economic skills of young students. The project runs between January 2008 and December 2011 and is funded from Austria-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013. The amount of assistance is € 708,000.
EDUCORB wishes to motivate nurseries, schools and learning offices in the region to participate in the project and put its possibilities to use. It assists in learning relevant languages from the youngest age, enhances the co-operation between Hungarian and Austrian institutions, together with providing continuous information about existing national, regional and international education sources.
In connexion with all these intentions, it establishes a continuation course and a regional tutorial network system to practise methodological developments, -lending a hand to manage problems originating from changes in the structure-, and teaching methods. Target groups are kids in nurseries, primary- and high school pupils, educational office attendees, small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
Lead Partner is the Regionaler Entwicklugsverband Industrieviertel- Projektmanagement Niederösterreich. There are 3 Hungarian partners (West Pannonian Regional Development Council Non-profit Ltd., Academy Foundation of Keszthely, Sopron-Fertőd Microregion Multipurpose Association) and one Austrian partner (Abteilung Kindergärten der NÖ Landesregierung).
